Privacy policy

The short version

Twist keeps your medicines, doses and history on your iPhone. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you enter — medicine names, strengths, dose times and the record of what you took — is stored only on your device. It is included in your normal iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), under your control. Deleting Twist deletes this data.

Medicine name search (optional)

When you type a medicine name, Twist can suggest names and strengths by sending what you typed to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s public RxTerms service (clinicaltables.nlm.nih.gov). Only the search text is sent — nothing that identifies you. You can turn this off in Settings → Online medicine search; Twist then uses its built-in list only.

Scanning a box

If you scan a medicine box, the camera image is read on your iPhone and is never uploaded. Words read from the box may be looked up with the medicine search above, if it is turned on.

Lock Screen reminders (optional)

Twist offers these when you first open it, and you can turn them on or off at any time in Settings → Lock Screen reminders. When they’re on, Twist uses our server at push.twistmeds.app to start a reminder on your lock screen at the right moment. For this, your iPhone sends:

As with any web service, our server sees the IP address your iPhone connects from. Reminders are deleted from the server once sent, or once they can no longer be delivered. Turning the setting off deletes your device and everything queued for it. A device the server hasn’t heard from for 30 days, for example because Twist was deleted, is deleted with everything queued for it.

Notifications

Ordinary reminders are scheduled on your iPhone by iOS and do not involve our server.

Children

Twist is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
